Movistar KOI won the Spring 2025 League of Legends EMEA Championship (LEC), beating G2 Esports with a 3-1 score.
Javier “Elyoya” Prades Batalla, Movistar KOI’s jungler, was named the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the championship final, which took place on June 8, 2025.
As the winner of the Spring Split, Movistar KOI also secured a spot in the Mid-Season Invitational (MSI), where it will meet top teams from the Korean, Americas, Asia-Pacific and Chinese leagues. MSI 2025 will be the 10th League of Legends tournament organized by Riot Games. Set for the window of June 27 to July 12, 2025, it will be hosted in Vancouver, Canada and will be the first edition of the tournament to feature the Fearless Draft format. In accordance with qualification rules, G2 Esports will also join MSI 2025 as the LEC Spring 2025 runner-up.
Notably, in 2025, LEC was played on the live patch for the first time in its history, making it the second domestic region to adopt it after the League Championship Series, which is no longer running, as it became part of the League of Legends Championship of the Americas.
At its peak, the grand final match attracted 509,010 viewers, showing a decline from last year’s peak of 593,554 during the G2 vs. Fnatic finals, according to Esports Charts.
