Game Freak has revealed Beast of Reincarnation at the Xbox Games Showcase 2025, a step away from the games they are primarily known for. Instead of cutesy Pokémon-like graphics, Game Freak has opted for a much more modern style, with a dash of action similar to Wild Hearts.
Beast of Reincarnation is shaping up to be an exciting action-adventure role-playing game where players are tasked to fight monsters along their travels. The protagonist is named Emma and has a dog companion named Koo.
Not much is known about the game’s plot, but the trailer has shown impressive visuals, parrying and acrobatic movement. It remains to be seen whether the game is going to be a Souls-like game, but it has the potential.
Game Freak has been seen to create games that are not Pokémon here and there; however, this might be the first time the developers are dipping their toes into Souls-like games and modern graphics. Most of their games have a light and cartoonish feel, while this one seems to carry a heavy story.
Beast of Reincarnation will be released on PC, Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5. It will also be available day one on Xbox Game Pass for those who are subscribed to it.
