Key points
  1. The Nintendo Switch 2 can connect to mobile devices via USB-C cable.
  2. Doing so allows the phone to act as a webcam.
  3. Nintendo’s official webcam for Switch 2 costs $54.99

The Nintendo Switch 2 supports mobile devices with a USB-C cable connection as webcams. According to IGN, Android devices and modern iPhones with a USB-C connection will work.

Here are the necessary cables to make a phone camera a Switch 2 webcam:

  • USB-C to HDMI Cable
    • Attach this to the phone
  • HDMI Capture Cable
    • Attach to the Nintendo Switch 2

Once the cables have been connected, the user must open the camera app.

Using the phone camera as a Nintendo Switch 2 webcam quickly drains the phone’s batteries; since the USB-C charging port is used to connect to the Switch 2, mobile devices have a finite run time as a webcam for the Nintendo Switch 2.

The Nintendo Switch 2 launched on June 5, 2025. The console was one of the most anticipated gaming devices in the past couple of years, largely thanks to the major success of its predecessor, the Nintendo Switch 1. Share options
