Mortal Shell II has been officially announced during the Summer Game Fest 2025 showcase, with developer Cold Symmetry debuting the game’s first trailer.

Judging by the trailer, the sequel retains the original’s dark atmosphere and methodical soulslike combat. The announcement offered brief glimpses of new enemies, bosses, and environments, but no further details were revealed.



The game is slated for release in 2026 on PC (via Steam), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.

The original Mortal Shell launched in August 2020 and has since sold over one million copies. Developed by a small team of 15, the game was praised for its atmospheric world, challenging combat, and unique mechanics like the “harden” ability and the use of different “shells” to alter playstyles.
