Initially, Cyberpunk 2077 was released on Dec. 10, 2020, for Google Stadia, PlayStation 4, Windows PC and Xbox One. Then, on Feb. 15, 2022, the game got PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S versions. On June 5, 2025, Cyberpunk 2077 joined the roster of Nintendo Switch 2 launch titles. On top of that, a port for macOS PC is currently in development.

Days before the release of the major expansion pack titled Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty on Sept. 26, 2023, the original title received Update 2.0, which brought significant overhauls to the game’s core, including redesigned perk and skill trees, vehicle combat and a revamped police system.

Meanwhile, Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty has sold over 10 million copies globally.

As of the time of writing, Cyberpunk 2077 featured a “Very Positive” rating on Steam with 749,632 user reviews, while its DLC had the same rating with 18,598 reviews. According to SteamDB, the peak number of concurrent players on Steam for the original title was 1,054,388, which puts it in eighth place among the most played games on Valve’s platform.

The news comes on the heels of CD Projekt Red officially moving its next major Cyberpunk game, codenamed “Project Orion,” into the preproduction phase.
