Final Fantasy Tactics – The Ivalice Chronicles is going to be released this year, according to Sony’s June 4 State of Play. It’s a remastered version of Final Fantasy Tactics, which came out in 1997 for the PlayStation.
The remastered version of the game includes new features such as a new user interface, updated visuals and a new view called the Tactical View to make it easier for players to look at the battlefield and plan their actions in advance. An option to speed up the battle has also been added.
Additionally, the game will also include voice acting from people such as Ben Starr (Clive from Final Fantasy XVI), Briana White (Aerith Gainsborough from the Final Fantasy VII Remake series) and Cody Christian (Cloud Strife from the Final Fantasy VII Remake series).
Those who are looking to play the game in classic graphics will not be disappointed, as a version aimed at that is also included. “The version stays true to the original in almost every aspect, but includes some handy features such as auto save,” Square Enix’s press release said.
Final Fantasy Tactics – The Ivalice Chronicles will be released on Sept. 30, 2025. It will be available on PlayStation 4 and 5, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series X|S and PC via Steam. Pre-orders are already available.
