- Certain general game mechanics in Street Fighter 6 have received adjustments.
- The big ones include how Perfect Parry works and the effects of Throw Escapes.
- The patch notes also include all the changes the development team made to all the characters.
Street Fighter 6 has changed how Perfect Parry and the effects of Throw Escapes work in Season 3. According to the latest general patch notes Capcom released, the changes were made to make sure that the game feels a lot more balanced for both the attacker and the defender.
For example, the Perfect Parry change now includes the player using parry to input either back or down-back on their controllers to parry a high/mid or a low, respectively. It was made this way due to the Perfect Parry freeze mechanic being a little too easy to do, which resulted in the person being parried having a bad time during the match.
Another big change is the effects of the Throw Escapes in the game. In Season 3, players who perform a Throw Escape will now receive more Drive Gauge and Super Art gauge. This would make escaping throws a much more enticing option now that it gives the defenders resources to mount a comeback.
Minor changes include adjustments to sweeps. The patch note said that these moves can now “win against other pokes more often.” However, they also changed the properties of its knockdown, making the adjustment mixed and not a clear buff or nerf. Additionally, Modern Control players also receive major updates regarding jumping attacks and unique assisted combos.
The patch notes also include all the changes the development team made for all 26 characters available in the game.
Street Fighter 6’s Season 3 will start on June 5, 2025. It also marks the game’s release on the Nintendo Switch 2 and the addition of Elena to the game’s roster as part of the Season 2 DLC characters.
