Fortnite’s official social media page posted a picture of the iconic Squid Game business card, confirming the rumors of a Squid Game collaboration within Fortnite. The post was shared on June 3, 2025; skins for the upcoming collaboration have already been teased. An infographic that has begun circulating online shows a skin for contestant 067 alongside a masked soldier skin from season 1.
The other skins for the collaboration have not been revealed, and no release date for the collaboration was announced. In addition to the Squid Game collab, Epic Games also announced the implementation of AI NPCs. The feature will be added to Fortnite Unreal Editor later this year, allowing players to create responsive characters with distinct personalities – they will have the capability to respond to questions, similar to how Vader AI did during the Star Wars collaboration.
Epic is also adding an AI assistant within Unreal Editor for Fortnite, which helps creators write Verse code while providing workflow guidance and development facilitation.
Fortnite is currently celebrating its Star Wars collaboration—the game saw the lowest concurrent average player count during May, partially due to the Star Wars in-game event. The event concludes on June 7, introducing the next season of Fortnite thereafter.
