The CS2 BLAST Austin Major 2025 is set to launch on June 3, 2025, featuring 32 teams and a $1.25 million prize pool, $500,000 of which will be taken by the winner.
Stage 1, scheduled for June 3–6, 2025, and Stage 2, set for June 7–10, 2025, will be held in a 16-team Swiss system format. In this format, all 16 teams start with a 0-0 record. Teams are matched each round with others that have the same win-loss record. A team advances to the next stage after earning 3 wins and is eliminated after 3 losses. Most matches are played as Best-of-1 (Bo1), but elimination and advancement matches (where a team could be knocked out or qualify) are Best-of-3 (Bo3). This continues until exactly 8 teams have 3 wins and move on to Stage 3, while the other 8 teams are eliminated.
Stage 3 of the CS2 BLAST Austin Major 2025 will take place from June 12 to 15 and will also follow a 16-team Swiss system format. As in earlier stages, teams compete to reach three wins in order to advance, while three losses lead to elimination. Matches are played as Bo1 by default, but matches that determine elimination or advancement are Bo3. At the end of this stage, the top eight teams move on to the playoffs.
The CS2 BLAST Austin Major 2025 playoffs will take place from June 19 to 22 and follow a single-elimination bracket structure, starting with the quarterfinals. Eight teams will compete in four quarterfinal matches, with the winners advancing to two semifinal matches. The winners of the semifinals will then face off in the grand final. All matches throughout the playoffs, including the quarterfinals, semifinals, and grand final, will be played as Bo3. The winner of the grand final will be crowned the tournament champion.
It is worth noting that while Stage 1 is fully packed with new teams with less experience, eight places in both Stages 2 and 3 are already taken by top teams from the Counter-Strike world ranking.
