Giant Skull to Develop D&D Game with Wizards of the Coast

- Giant Skull and Wizards of the Coast are collaborating to create a new action-adventure D&D game.
- The title will supposedly be gameplay-driven while providing story immersion.
- Giant Skull was founded by Stig Asmussen, who previously worked on the Star Wars Jedi series.
Triple A video game development studio Giant Skull announced that they are in collaboration with Wizards of the Coast, an American game publisher that owns Dungeons & Dragons. Wizards of the Coast will publish the studio’s next title currently undergoing development, a single-player action-adventure game set in the Dungeons & Dragons universe.
Giant Skull’s CEO Stig Asmussen shared a public statement:
“Our talented and experienced team at Giant Skull is built on creativity and curiosity. Our goal is to craft a rich new Dungeons & Dragons universe filled with immersive storytelling, heroic combat and exhilarating traversal that players will fully embrace.”
President of Wizards of the Coast John Hight added to the announcement:
“Stig and the team at Giant Skull are exactly the type of exceptionally talented creators we want to work with, and I’m so happy to be reuniting with him on this new project […] Worldbuilding and storytelling is in our DNA, and this collaboration reflects our evolution and commitment to our Playing to Win Strategy, building a stronger presence in digital play.”
No gameplay trailer or screen shots have been revealed yet.
The CEO and founder of Giant Skull most notably worked on the Star Wars Jedi series, a critically acclaimed single player action adenture. Asmussen also worked on the God of War Series while previously employed at Sony’s Santa Monica.
