FromSoftware’s Elden Ring: Nightreign has sold over 2 million copies across all platforms within its first 24 hours, according to a celebratory post from the game’s official social media account. The launch also saw a peak of 313,000 concurrent players on Steam within the first day.
The new title marks a departure from FromSoftware’s traditional single-player design, with Nightreign built primarily around cooperative play. The studio has already announced a patch to address some concerns raised by solo players, including the addition of auto-revive mechanics and improved rune rewards.
Elden Ring: Nightreign received its first update with Version 1.01 going live across all platforms ahead of launch. According to Bandai Namco, the day-one update addresses pre-release balance issues and improves gameplay stability, including character handling, bug fixes, new character scenarios, and adjustments to music and in-game text.
Despite these updates, the game has received mixed feedback from gamers on Steam, many of whom expressed frustration over the limited support for single-player expeditions. The PC version has also been criticized for technical issues, including stuttering, frame rate drops, and cases where the game fails to launch without verifying files through Steam.
