- Yahoo Auctions is fighting against scalpers by deleting listings of the Nintendo Switch 2.
- The restriction will continue even after the official launch of the console.
- There’s a little over a week before the console’s official launch.
Yahoo Auction in Japan has started removing listings of the Nintendo Switch 2 in an attempt to combat scalpers in the country. The website published a press release saying that starting today, any listings of the Switch 2 will be instantly removed.
The website also mentioned that the restriction regarding Switch 2 listings will be kept even after the console‘s release date. Those who violate the guidelines may have their account suspended.
A few days ago, Gaming.News reported that Amazon Japan has already sold more than 60,000 units, with more than half of those coming from the Japan-only Mario Kart World set. However, it seems that even with a lottery system involved, people are still finding ways to scalp the console.
There’s a little over a week before the official launch of the Switch 2. There have been reports that the consoles are already in the hands of end users but are locked behind a day 1 patch needed to make the console work.
The Nintendo Switch 2 will cost $449.99 for the console alone. A $499.99 option is available for those who want to buy the Switch 2 + Mario Kart World bundle, which saves the buyer around $20 due to Mario Kart World costing around $79.99 if bought separately.
