Sandfall Interactive announced on X that Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 has sold 3.3 million copies 33 days after its release. “We couldn’t make that up,” the developers said in the post as they thanked their fans for supporting the game.
Several people and games have responded to the X post, congratulating the team on their achievement. Notable ones include Ben Starr, the voice actor of Verso, as well as Xbox and the official X account of Palworld.
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is Sandfall Interactive’s first game, and it’s a commercial as well as a critical success. It scored more than 90 points on all platforms according to Metacritic, which makes it a universally acclaimed game based on the website’s standards.
The game’s success doesn’t end in the video games industry either. Early this month, the developers announced that the game’s soundtracks had topped Billboard’s Classical chart and Classical Crossover chart.
The game is currently available on PlayStation 5, PC, and Xbox Series X|S. It has reached an all-time peak concurrent players of more than 140,000. The game is also available on Game Pass for those who are subscribed to it.
