Armor King Announced as Returning Character at Combo Breaker 2025, Joins Roster in Fall

Bandai Namco revealed that Armor King is going to be the next DLC character to join Tekken 8 after Fahkumram. The character was shown right after the latter’s gameplay trailer, which showcased his moves and heat state.
Armor King is a beloved character in the Tekken franchise. He was already part of the cast in the first Tekken game; however, he was more of a clone character. The current Armor King fighting in recent Tekken titles is actually the second Armor King, as the first one was killed by Craig Marduk, another Tekken fighter.
His move set is still based on pro-wrestling moves, just like King’s. But the difference is that he focuses more on striking compared to King’s grapples. As such, his gameplay involves more poking and chipping away at opponents’ health with strings.
Fahkumram, on the other hand, finally has a release date, which will be on July 7 for players who have early access and July 10 for everybody else. With Armor King being revealed, there’s only one character left in Tekken 8’s Season 2 character pass.
According to a graphic posted on X, it’s going to be a new challenger. This can mean that it might be a new character from the Tekken universe or a guest character similar to Clive’s addition in Tekken 8. Throughout Tekken’s history, there have been six guest characters added into the game: Clive, Noctis, Negan Smith, Akuma, Geese Howard and Gon. The last one wasn’t as popular in the west, as it was only added in Tekken 3 and is a character from a manga of the same name.
