Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Warzone are about to get five multiplayer maps, new weapons, Zombies Grief mode, The Overlook in Verdansk and more in Season 4, which launches on May 29, 2025.
The story unfolds as Russell Adler didn’t kill Vikhor “Stitch” Kuzmin after all, and instead, he imprisoned the villain in a secret black site in Iceland as a safeguard for the future. Now, as the right moment has arrived, Adler and his team have freed their former enemy, seeing it as their only way to finally unravel the Pantheon codenames.

The multiplayer update introduces new Core 6v6 maps that are coming at the launch of the new season. On the Shutdown map, players can shut off power to a prison by attacking a hydroelectric dam in Iceland. Combat takes place across rugged terrain, with the opportunity to dive into the lake. Another new map is Fugitive, set after the power cut, where players must break Stitch out of a black site prison by infiltrating a frozen compound, climbing, ziplining and battling both around the grounds and inside the cell block while alarms warn of the jailbreak.
On the new 2v2/6v6 Strike map, Blitz, which is coming at the launch of Season 4, Pantheon agents get ambushed by the Rogue team while racing toward the prison. Later in the season, the Strike map Eclipse will arrive, featuring Stitch in Avalon slipping into an underground nightclub. On this map, battles will unfold amid neon lights, down hallways and across the dance stage.
Mid-season also brings a remaster of Fringe, a Core 6v6 map originally featured in Call of Duty: Black Ops 3. This reimagined version showcases the grand opening of the Rolling Hills distillery.

The upcoming season is also about to add new multiplayer modes, including Team Elimination, launching alongside the update. This mode is a twist on Kill Confirmed, where both teams have a limited number of lives per round. When players are eliminated, they drop a dog tag that can be picked up by enemies to confirm kills and drain the opposing team’s remaining lives, or by teammates to prevent this.
Another mode arriving within the launch window is One in the Chamber, a Black Ops classic featuring one pistol, one bullet, a knife and three lives. Players must eliminate enemies to earn more bullets.
Later in the season, Party Ops will arrive as a Limited-Time mode, dropping players into a randomized set of themed minigames.
An event reward Scorestreak, the Grim Reaper, is launching on May 22, 2025. This quad-tube loaded launcher from the original Black Ops is capable of dealing heavy explosive damage to enemy Operators and Scorestreaks alike.
On top of that, Zombies mode Grief will return at the launch of Season 4. This 4v4 indirect PvP mode features teams siding with either S.A.M. or Director Richtofen, with handler communications guiding players throughout the match. Teams must secure Capture Zones to thwart their enemies while dealing with modifiers such as reduced damage, drained ammo, slowed movement and more.

Alongside Grief, a new Ammo Mod, Shatter Blast, is coming at the launch of the new season, allowing players to modify their ammo so it explodes on contact, dealing armor-piercing damage within a blast radius. Players can research Major and Minor Augments to further specialize Shatter Blast’s abilities.
Additionally, three new GobbleGums are available. Explosive Flourish triggers an area-of-effect explosion around the Operator when reloading. Flavor Hex activates a random Ultra GobbleGum, and Rainburps forces eliminated zombies to belch sparkly rainbow bubbles.
The Grim Reaper support weapon can be built at the Crafting Table, allowing players to blast zombies to bits with powerful firepower. Throughout the season, players can expect new Dark Ops challenges that reward Calling Cards and XP for completing secret tasks. New limited-time modes will also arrive, including the Starting Room LTM and the Abomination Challenge LTM.
Besides that, Activision has confirmed the next crossover character coming to Call of Duty in Season 4, Ana de Armas’ character from the upcoming movie set in the John Wick universe, Ballerina.

The Ballerina Tracer Pack allows players to step into the role of Eve Macarro, the character portrayed by de Armas in Ballerina. This bundle features two operator skins: the first, named Eve Macarro, showcases Eve wearing a red dress, while the second, Ruska Rogue, presents her in a black outfit. Along with these skins, the pack includes three themed weapons: the “Releve” AK-74, the “Plie” Saug SMG and the “Arabesque” 9MM pistol.
The DLC also features a Dance With Death finishing move, the Pirouette emote, the Keepsake weapon charm, the Caged Grace emblem, the Pas de Duex calling card, and the Take a Bow loading screen. This bundle will be available in Call of Duty during Season 4, but it won’t launch alongside the season’s start.
As for Warzone, a new Point of Interest called The Overlook has been added to Downtown Verdansk. This skyscraper under construction replaces Burger Town and the SKN Comm tower, both of which were demolished to make way for the building. Two cranes flank the dominant structure, with checkpoints lining the entrances. Players can battle their way from ground level, including the relocated Burger Town, all the way up to the Penthouse and Roof, or use an ascender to gain a height advantage.
The new limited-time mode Clash will join at the launch of Season 4. It pits two teams of 52 players against each other within a specific POI in Verdansk. There is no Circle Collapse, and players have instant access to their loadouts. The first team to earn 500 points by eliminating enemies, completing contracts and participating in Public Events wins. In Clash mode, players can earn upgrades such as the new Door Barricade Field and the Hand Cannon, spend cash to activate SAM Turrets, and collect power-ups.
Warzone’s mid-season will introduce Havoc Royale, a Resurgence mode with modifiers where teams must survive the chaos to be the last standing. Alongside it, Resurgence Casual will bring a mix of human players and bots, making it an ideal mode for warming up or teaching new players the ropes.
New mid-season loadout items include the Care Package, a rare throwable that summons an aerial drop containing a chance to obtain rare equipment, the Specialist perk, and more.
The perk called Loot Master, available only in Resurgence and Plunder, will help players gear up faster by increasing the amount of loot found when opening caches. This includes a higher drop rate for weapon ammo, tacticals and lethals, cash, field upgrades, killstreaks, and other high-tier gear.
The Battle Pass introduces two rapid-fire weapons: the LC10 SMG and the FFAR 1 assault rifle. Additional weapons can be earned through multiple seasonal events, including the lever-action Essex Model 07 marksman rifle, the Olympia special weapon, and the Pickaxe melee weapon.
New attachments will also become available, such as the G-Grip Tactical Foregrip that fits most SMGs and assault rifles. Players can access three weapon conversions: a burst conversion for the Stryder, a .22 pistol conversion for the SVD sniper rifle, and a full-auto conversion for the TR2 marksman rifle.
Throughout the season, several events will offer chances to earn items like the Essex Model 07 marksman rifle, the Stryder .22 3-round burst mod and the Grim Reaper scorestreak.
Additionally, a new season of Ranked Play kicks off for both multiplayer and Call of Duty: Warzone, featuring modes like Battle Royale and, mid-season, Resurgence.
