Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. is coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2 following its debut on PC on Jan. 28, 2025.
The news was announced by Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio, a video game developer and a division of Sega, at Virtua Fighter Direct 2025 Spring on May 11, 2025.
Virtua Fighter project producer Seiji Aoki stated that the game would feature cross-play among all declared platforms.
Notably, Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. is a version that also serves as both a remastered Final Showdown (the second major update) and the final third update to the sub-series.
As of the time of writing, the game featured a “Mostly Positive” rating on Steam with 1,268 reviews. There are no official or publicly verified total sales figures available for Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. yet. However, according to an interview with the developer, sales have exceeded initial projections, prompting Sega to consider the future of the series.
Besides that, during the livestream, the developers announced that the Wolf Hawkfield character will be featured in the upcoming new franchise’s installment.
