According to well-known Rockstar leaker, Tez2, a port of Grand Theft Auto IV for current-generation consoles may see a release in 2025 along with Max Payne 1 and 2 remakes and a Max Payne 3 port.

According to a recent statement from Tez2 on GTA Forums, his Rockstar source hinted that a port of GTA IV should have been in development for a year already and can be ready for release later in 2025. Tez2 also stated that the upcoming port is one of the reasons the Liberty City Preservation Project, which recreated the entirety of the Grand Theft Auto IV main city in GTA V, was taken down.

Tez2 also stated that if Rockstar still follows its plan laid out from the pandemic days, a Max Payne 3 port will follow the GTA IV release. He also highlighted that it opens an opportunity for the company to create a bundle or a definitive edition, which will include the Max Payne 3 port and Max Payne 1 and 2 remakes that will be delivered as a single title by Remedy, according to the company’s development agreement with Rockstar.

The sixth main entry in the Grand Theft Auto series and the fourth numbered part of the franchise was released on April 29, 2008. The game, set in the fictional Liberty City, based in New York City, follows the story of Eastern European war veteran Niko Bellic.

Within 24 hours after its launch, GTA IV sold over 3.6 million copies, equating to approximately $310 million in revenue, and within its first week, the game generated more than $500 million in worldwide revenue, equating to approximately 6 million copies sold. A month later, the game sold over 8.5 million copies. As of July 2013, the game had sold over 25 million copies, making it one of the best-selling video games at the time. Notably, all the title’s sales records were beaten by its successor, GTA V, which is, as of the time of writing, holding second place on the list of the best-selling games with 210 million copies.
