All Lightsabers Added in Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 3

|
- Lightsaber combat was added to Fortnite on May 2, 2025.
- To access a lightsaber, players must interact with either Palpatine or Rey; more instructors are joining May 8.
- Players can also defeat Darth Vader to gain Jedi powers.
Fortnite added lightsabers to its battle royale, and acquiring these melee weapons allows players to utilize extra mobility alongside wielding The Force. But to wield them properly, the player cannot simply pick up a lightsaber; doing so only allows the basic combos with no access to extra mobility or The Force.
Lightsaber Spawn Locations
Lightsabers typically spawn within the first five minutes of the game; they are indicated on the mini-map by a badge with a lightsaber icon. They spawn in random locations every match, but both instructors have been frequently sighted standing out in the open rather than in buildings.
There are two instructors: Rey and Palpatine. No ammo is needed, and players cannot run out of lightsaber charge.
- Interact with Darth Sidious (Palpatine) for a Red Lightsaber
- Grants Force Lightning (hold Block and Attack simultaneously)
- Interact with Rey for a Blue Lightsaber
- Grants Force Push (hold Block and Attack simultaneously)
Unless players have personally talked to an instructor, they cannot wield a lightsaber to the fullest extent possible.

The only other way to become a Jedi and wield a lightsaber is to defeat Darth Vader. Darth Vader spawns at Samurai’s Solitude. Defeating him grants the player an exclusive lightsaber with the ability Force Saber Throw.
Other Jedi instructors slated to join the game are Mace Windu and Darth Maul, who will be added on May 8.
Fortnite begins its Star Wars collaboration celebrations with a premiere of Tales of the Underworld, a highly anticipated Star Wars animation. The first two episodes were shown in-game on May 2, with an exclusive reward for those who watched both episodes. Players can watch them on the standalone Star Wars Watch Party Island.
