Hollow Knight: Silksong will finally be playable on Sept. 18 in a national museum located in Melbourne, Australia. Also known as the Australian Centre for the Moving Image (ACMI), the museum is holding a game exhibition called Game Worlds – during which Silksong will be playable.

“We are thrilled to celebrate the design of this South Australian-made game as a centrepiece of Game Worlds in September,” ACMI co-curators Bethan Johnson and Jini Maxwell said, as according to IGN.

“From the hundreds of sprites that animate Hornet’s different movements and attacks, to the logic behind the game’s most challenging boss fights – and of course, having the game playable in-gallery – our Silksong displays delve deeply into the details of the game’s artistic direction and design.”

The extent of the playable gameplay showcase has not been announced, meaning it is not yet publicly know if it is simply a gameplay demo or if the full game will be made available at ACMI. No news regarding Hollow Knight: Silksong’s release date or updates regarding the game’s development were revealed.

Originally planned as downloadable content for the popular platformer Hollow Knight, the upcoming Hollow Knight: Silksong has grown into a standalone sequel. Developed by Team Cherry, the highly anticipated project was announced six years ago and has since expanded in scope. Silksong is slated for release on PlayStation, Xbox, PC, and Nintendo Switch 1 and 2.
