Tekken 8 Devs Deploy Band-Aid Fixes To Curb Disastrous Season 2 Changes

|
- Bandai Namco deploys band-aid fixes to Tekken 8 to stop the bleeding made by Season 2 changes.
- One of the fixes is to increase the maximum health values of characters, which didn’t particularly land well with players.
- Tekken 8 has been review bombed and is currently being boycotted due to these changes.
An emergency patch is coming to Tekken 8 on April 17, which aims to fix the season 2 changes the developers implemented earlier this month. The changes include increasing the health points of characters and nerfing the heat system.
These are band-aid fixes before the developers find a proper way to balance the game. For example, increasing the maximum health points of characters is not a permanent fix. It only allows players to have more interactions with each other before one of them inevitably loses.
Players aren’t too happy about this as this change does not matter when there are a lot of attacks in the game that makes the round one-sided. It just means that the player will have to deal with the punishment for a longer time and hope that the other opponent slips up so they can start their offense.
Speaking of attacks that make the game one-sided, this issue has been specifically addressed by the patch notes. The developers mentioned that they are going to adjust certain moves in the game to prevent one-sided gameplay from happening. The developers also mentioned that the next update is planned for mid-May. Adjustments to air combo damage and heat bursts are to be expected.
Tekken 8 is currently not in a good spot due to the changes introduced in Season 2. This resulted in players boycotting Tekken 8 and review bombing it on Steam. It even prompted modders to take matters into their own hands and release a version of the game without heat and rage systems.
