The Switch’s 2 preorders for Canada reportedly begin next week, starting on April 23, 2025. The information was revealed by Billbil-Kun on Twitter, an independent private investigator. Billbil-Kun is a reputable source with a strong track record for retail leaks. Within the post they wrote “date subject to change.”
As for the Nintendo Switch’s preorder in the United States, the same source revealed potential dates for the preorder availability. They claim the preorder date will be on either April 21 or 30, depending on the retailer. Billbill-Kun claims the Switch 2 Pro controller will be available for preorder on April 30.
For both the United States as well as Canada preorders, Nintendo has not yet revealed the official date. It is not clear where Billbil-Kun acquired his information.
Trump’s tariffs impacted the Switch 2 preorders in the Unites States and inadvertently in Canada as well. United States president paused the tariffs momentarily, a move that is expected to facilitate preorder processing in the states. Nintendo has not officially responded to the pause of the tariffs.
The Nintendo Switch 2 serves as the successor to the immensely popular Nintendo Switch. According to their direct, Nintendo’s future titles will have variable pricing, with some games costing up to $90 (USD) for physical copies.
