Capcom Adjusts Monster Hunter Wilds Challenge Quest to Discourage Cheaters

- Doshaguma: Mark of Mastery is no longer available for only top 10,000 players.
- Many of the top 10,000 players on Monster Hunter Wilds are blatant cheaters.
- The community is asking for repercussions for cheaters to maintain competitive integrity.
Capcom is changing the Challenge Quest “Doshaguma of the Hollow,” adjusting the reward system to discourage cheaters. Participating in the challenge quest provides the Doshaguma: Mark of Contest and Mark of Bravery pendants, while achieving a Rank ‘A’ Time are given the Mark of Mastery pendant.
Previously, participation only rewarded players with Mark of Contest, while achieving Rank ‘A’ granted Mark of Bravery. The Mark of Mastery was for the top 10,000 hunters – but cheaters ruined the competitive integrity. Many hunters reportedly have 0-5 second runs, which is numerically impossible given Monster Hunter’s damage system.
Though the specified change to the rewards are only for the Challenge Quest “Doshaguma of the Hollow,” Capcom expressed intent to prevent a similar occurrence of widespread cheaters to happen again.
“We are currently reviewing Arena Quests and Challenge Quests clear times in the rankings for any irregularities or glitches and will be taking action to exclude times that are clearly unnatural,” Capcom shared on social media.
They outlined the punishments for cheating:
“If our review determines that there has been clear cheating, we will take action to suspend or ban the account in question. The user’s clear time will not be registered in the rankings from that point, and they will not receive the event rewards.
