Zerat Games Defends Release of No Mercy After Pulling The Game Out of Steam

- Zerat Games, the developers of No Mercy, have taken the game down on Steam entirely.
- The game was already pulled from the U.K., Canada, and Australia Steam storefronts before Zerat Games made the decision.
- Players who bought the game before it was taken down can still play the game.
Zerat Games has pulled its game No Mercy, which recently gained notoriety. Before this, Valve had already removed it from the Steam storefronts in the U.K., Canada, and Australia after receiving criticism from a member of the U.K. Parliament.
While the developers have pulled the game from the storefront, they defended the game’s release. “I fully understand that for many people such things may be disgusting, but during sex, people should really do what they want, as long as they don’t harm anyone,” Zerat Games, the creators of No Mercy, said in a statement to Kotaku.
They continued by asking players to be more open about human fetishes that don’t harm other people. “This is still just a game, and although many people are trying to make it into something more, it remains and will continue to be a game.”
The game was removed from the U.K., Australia, and Canada storefronts of Steam. However, after releasing the statement, Zerat Games took the game down from Steam entirely. The game will still be playable for people who purchased it before it was taken down.
No Mercy is an adult-only game that was released on Steam. It revolves around a male dominating all the women around him, which involves incest, extreme sexual violence, and “unavoidable non-consensual sex.” It received notoriety after being criticized by the U.K. technology secretary, Peter Kyle.
