Esports World Cup to Feature $70m Prize Pool in 2025

Esports World Cup 2025, a multi-title esports event set to take place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, will feature a total $70m prize pool, marking a $10m from the inaugural event’s prize pools in 2024. The prize money will be distributed among competitions in 25 disciplines happening from July 7, 2025, to Aug. 24, 2025.
EWC 2025 will feature four more disciplines than in the debut year, including a very first competition for the EWC chess title, with a $1.5 million total prize pool.
The prize pool of $27m will be up for grabs in the Club Championship, with $7m on offer to the organization that earns the most points. The remainder of the prize pool will be split across each tournament, MVP awards, and qualifiers.
The news about the increase in the total prize pool is coming on the heels of the $20 million Esports World Club Partner Program announcement aimed at marketing and content campaigns in collaboration with 40 esports organizations.
The EWC 2025 games lineup includes Chess, Counter-Strike 2, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, Call of Duty: Warzone, Free Fire, Street Fighter 6, DOTA 2, Rainbow Six Siege, PUBG Mobile, Apex Legends, EA Sports FC, Overwatch 2, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (Women’s Invitational), Rocket League, Rennsport, Honor of Kings, PUBG, CrossFire, Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves, League of Legends, Teamfight Tactics, Valorant, Tekken 8, and StarCraft II.
Besides the $60 million prize pool, the 2024 inaugural EWC showcased 1,500 esports athletes and 200 clubs from 100 countries. They participated in 22 tournaments across 21 different game disciplines. The inaugural event attracted 500 million online viewers and 2.6 million live attendees.
