Vampire Survivors Skips Cross-Save Update on PlayStation Consoles Due to Legal Issues

- Vampire Survivors will skip the cross-save update for PlayStation consoles due to legal issues.
- The update will proceed as planned for other consoles, but PlayStation receiving the cross-save update is now “very slim.”
- Vampire Survivors was released in 2022.
On April 8, Vampire Survivors devs announced they would skip the cross-save update from PlayStation consoles because the team ran into a legal issue. According to a post uploaded on their social media, PlayStation requires them to share information about their partners that they can’t.
They added that because of this, the chances of cross-save coming to PlayStation consoles are now “very slim.” However, they plan to keep working with PlayStation to resolve the problems.
The update will proceed as planned on PC, Xbox, Android, and iOS. The Nintendo Switch version will follow at a later date, while the Apple Arcade version is being considered, as long as the team does not breach any privacy commitments.
According to the developers, the next update they plan to release is going to be the biggest free update they have made. Including the cross-save features, Free Update 1.13 will also include new weapons, characters, and references.
Vampire Survivors is a roguelike game released in 2022 for the PC, macOS, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Android, and iOS. A Nintendo Switch port was released in 2023, with a PlayStation 4 & 5 port following in 2024. The game received generally favorable reviews on Metacritic.
