Valve Has Made More Than $82 Million From CS2 Case Openings In March

|
- Valve has earned more than $82 million from Counter-Strike 2 Case openings just in March.
- The numbers only take into account keys sold by Valve directly.
- Counter-Strike 2 remains the most played game on Steam.
Valve earned around $82 million from case openings in March. This doesn’t take into account the cases opened privately, as CS 2 Case Tracker can only monitor the cases opened publicly.
The $82 million came from keys sold to open cases. Players can buy keys from Valve directly for $2.50. Multiply that by the number of cases opened in March, which is around 32.7 million, and the result will be around $82 million. Again, this does not include cases that were opened privately, nor the commissions they earn after selling cases in the Market Place.
According to Dexerto, March, for some reason, is always the strongest month for case openings. March 2024, for example, has a record-breaking 38 million cases opened. Additionally, Counter-Strike 2 also peaked at 1.8 million concurrent players in March. Ever since 2023, the game has shown an increase in its concurrent players that month, according to SteamDB.
Counter-Strike 2 has remained the most played game on Steam. Its 24-hour peak concurrent players always goes past a million. The game was released in September 2023, completely replacing Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. It received a generally favorable score on Metacritic. However, some pros think otherwise.
