EA Sports NHL Celebrates Alexander Ovechkin’s 895th Record Goal

EA Sports NHL celebrates the netting of the 895th career goal by Washington Capitals star Alexander Ovechkin, which is surpassing Wayne Gretzky’s record as the league’s all-time leading scorer.
Starting today, players can claim a special Milestones Ovechkin item simply by logging into NHL 25’s Hockey Ultimate Team. The celebration of EA Sports isn’t stopping there and continues with a new 895 Ovechkin HUT item that features special art and a 99 overall rating. On top of that, all players can receive a free commemorative 895 jersey in the World of Chel.
Ovechkin has been a constant presence in EA Sports’ NHL series, first appearing on the cover of NHL 07. He’s one of only three players to be featured multiple times as the cover athlete.
Ovechkin’s illustrious NHL achievements include Rookie of the Year Calder Memorial Trophy in 2006, 13 All-Star selections, and three MVP awards. Besides that, he led the Capitals to their first Stanley Cup victory in 2018, where he also secured the Conn Smythe Trophy as playoff MVP.
NHL (colloquially referred to as Chel) is a series of professional ice hockey simulation video games developed by EA Vancouver and published yearly by Electronic Arts under the EA Sports brand. EA Sports NHL 25 is the 34th installment of the franchise that features a commentary team of James Cybulski and Cheryl Pounder.
The game was released on Oct. 4, 2024, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|Swith a soundtrack that features songs from Alkaline Trio, HARDY, Green Day, Kings of Leon, JXDN, Bleeker, Cage the Elephant, Dead Poet Society, Imagine Dragons, Idles, Safari Youth, Rival Sons and Twenty-One Pilots.
