Key points
  1. According to reports, G2’s lackluster performance at the start of the year has led m0NESY to leave the team and join Team Falcons.
  2. The transfer is reportedly going to be a multi-million dollar deal and also the biggest transfer in Counter-Strike history.
  3. It’s currently unknown when m0NESY will join Team Falcons’ starting roster.

Ilya “m0NESY” Osipov is reportedly leaving G2 and will join Team Falcons before the Austin Major in June, according to Guillaume “neL” Rathier from Croissant Strike. The transfer was reportedly due to G2’s disappointing tournament performances.

According to HLTV, m0NESY has already received an offer from Team Falcons during the winter off-season. However, the organization couldn’t reach an agreement with G2, which led to him staying with the team. However, it seems that because of G2’s lackluster start of the year, m0NESY is reportedly leaving the team.

Rathier’s report mentions that the m0NESY’s transfer should be quick and will happen before the Austin Major. However, it’s unclear when he will truly join the roster. Team Falcons still have four tournaments to attend before the major. His addition to the team will lead to Abdul “degster” Gasanov’s replacement. Team Falcons’ starting roster will reportedly be:

  • Emil “Magisk” Reif
  • Nikola “NiKo” Kovač
  • Damjan “kyxsan” Stoilkovski
  • René “TeSeS” Madsen
  • Ilya “m0NESY” Osipov

m0NESY’s transfer will be a multi-million dollar deal and the biggest transfer in Counter-Strike history, according to Rathier. Additionally, his departure from G2 will leave a huge hole in their roster as he plays a huge role in the team as their star player.
