Nintendo Lists 120 Games That Won’t Run or May Have Issues on Switch 2

Shortly after the Nintendo Switch 2 direct, the company revealed a list of 120 games that will have “in-game compatibility issues” with the Nintendo Switch 2.  This list includes Just Dance 2019, Mega Man Legacy Collection, Fall Guys, and many other titles. As to the exact reasoning for why these games are having issues has not been revealed. 

The official Nintendo posting simply states, “Nintendo Switch games that start up on Nintendo Switch 2, but include some in-game compatibility issues,” then lists out the following:

MSN has reached out to Nintendo for a response regarding the issue – but as of April 2, no other information has been revealed. The longevity of these issues remains unknown, alongside whether or not these titles will be playable despite their known in-game issues. 

Nintendo Switch 2 preorders open on April 9, 2025. The official release for the console is on June 5, 2025, costing consumers $449.99 to acquire the upcoming console. 

The Nintendo Switch 2 will feature 256 GB of internal storage. A bundle including Mario Kart World will be available for $499.99. For those looking to expand their storage, the console will support microSD Express cards, which maintain the same form factor as the original Switch’s microSD cards but offer SSD-like speeds. These cards start at approximately $45 for a 128 GB model and $60 for a 256 GB version. While the Switch 2 is compatible with most Switch games, you’ll need a microSD Express card to play any game on the new console.
