Key points
  1. The price for games on the Nintendo Switch 2 will be about $80 for digital copies and $90 for physical.
  2. According to the official page of Mario Cart World, the game will cost $79,99 (digital copy).
  3. Donkey Kong Bananza, in its turn, will cost $70.

It was announced that the price for games on the Nintendo Switch 2 will be about $80 for digital copies and $90 for physical.

According to the official page of Mario Cart World, the game will cost $79,99.

It’s worth noting that the other recently announced title, Donkey Kong Bananza, is being priced at $70. That seems to suggest that Nintendo will continue to build prices on a game-by-game basis.

The news a coming on heels of rumors that GTA 6 could lead a new wave of pricing for AAA titles, potentially shattering the current $70 ceiling.

Earlier this year, Epyllion CEO Matthew Ball presented a report on gaming’s 2025 eventual landscape, stating that GTA 6 might not only redefine video game pricing but also validate years of rising development costs. If the game lands in the $80-$100 range, it would become the most expensive mainstream title ever. And Nintendo raising the prices may become a precedent for such a move.
