  2. Project Rene was first introduced in 2022 at a Behind the Sims Summit Stream Event.
  3. The game still has no release date.

A 20-minute footage of Project Rene has leaked online, and it shows a character running around a plaza and interacting with different people. The game has been called the “Next Generation” of Sims and was previously mistaken as Sims 5.

In 2022, EA gave a first look at Project Rene at a Behind the Sims Summit Stream Event. Lyndsay Pearson, the VP of Franchise Creative for The Sims, mentioned that this game is the “future of the Sims innovation.” The game has been open to playtesting for quite some time now, and there have been videos of the test floating around the internet.

The latest leaked footage called the game “City Life Game with Friends.” This is most likely a tentative name and will be changed when the game is ready to be released. A Google Play Store page is available that further explains what the game is all about.

According to the store page, this is only a small part of a larger game concept, and the features included in the app do not necessarily represent the direction or content of any upcoming game. The images also feature the things that were shown in the leaked footage.

The characters are also speaking Simlish, the language Sims use, or something very similar. The green diamond on top of the player character, which is unique to The Sims, is also here.

Project Rene still has no release date. The footage shown in 2022 was considered “super early,” and the recent footage indicates that it is only a small part of the game. While there were also leaks that were uploaded back then, there is still no information regarding how far the development has come along.
