The League of Legends TCG, previously known as Project K, is rebranded as Riftbound. The TCG launches in summer of 2025 in China first, followed by many English speaking countries during an undetermined date in 2025.
Riftbound’s first set is Origins, which releases with over 300 cards, including three champions: Jinx, Viktor, Lee Sin, and Yasuo.
Alongside the competitive-focused Origins set, a new casual game box, Providing Ground, is set to release, offering a ready-to-play experience for beginners. Proving Ground includes four starter decks, featuring the following champions: Lux, Annie, Garen, and Master Yi.
The game supports 2v2, 1v1, and free for all formats, allowing for various forms of play.
Riot has another card game, Legends of Runeterra – which was released five years ago in 2020. The digital card game is receiving limited funding and support, as the title has not gathered enough support during its lifespan. It appears Riot is pivoting to fund their physical TCG, Riftbound, instead. Though they share the same source material, the two card games feature drastically different mechanics.
