ASUS shared a teaser trailer for their upcoming ROG Ally gaming handheld on Twitter. The official Xbox Twitter account commented with the popular side eye meme.
In the trailer, ASUS teases “more capacity, marathon stamina, faster speeds, and a fresh look!” Two controllers fly across the screen, showcasing button layouts that mirror the Xbox controller’s. The buttons, X, Y, A, and B, are then displayed with the iconic Xbox controller colors, spinning then transitioning into the ASUS ROG logo.
“Our little robot friend is cooking something up…” the official ROG Global Twitter account shared.
This sparked speculation in the gaming community regarding Xbox’s next gaming handheld – which is planned for release in 2025. The trailer alongside Xbox’s comment were posted on March 31, 2025 – one day before April 1st.
The initial announcement for Xbox’s gaming handheld was revealed with the codename ‘Keenan,’ which will supposedly be a handheld PC that can run Windows. As for the ROG Ally, the handheld PC is known for its high performance – serving as direct rivals to the Steam Deck. ASUS releases a new version of ROG Ally once a year, with each year improving upon its predecessor. The trailer revealed on March 31 is suspected to be for their 2025 handheld PC release.
