Sea of Thieves celebrated their 7th anniversary with a collaboration with Destiny 2. The collaboration introduced Lightbearer cosmetics to the game – most notably adding a skin for Drifter, an iconic character from Destiny 2.
Rare, the development studio behind Sea of Thieves, created Destiny 2 themed cosmetics for ships, weapons, and costumes. Xbox Wire revealed a preview of all the cosmetics on their official blog.
Here are all the items made available in the Lightbearer Big Bundle:
- Lightbearer Ship Bundle
- Ship’s Crest
- Costume Set and Weapon Bundle
- Mighty, Silent, and Wise Lightbearer Ship Bundles
Andria Warren, Director of Creative Operations at Rare, commented on the development process for the Sea of Thieves x Destiny 2 collaboration:
“From the earliest concept sketches to finalising designs that honoured both universes, every step challenged us to think differently. We explored how iconic Destiny elements could be reimagined through a Sea of Thieves lens, translating tone, visual language, and character into something that felt fresh but unmistakably faithful,” Warran said, expressing pride in the final products.
Sea of Thieves released on March 20, 2018 for the PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. The title reportedly sold over 1 million copies on PlayStation 5, receiving an 8/10 review from IGN.
