Nintendo is adding four classic Koei Tecmo titles to the Nintendo Switch Online catalog on Match 28, 2025. All four titles are going to be added under the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES).

The four titles to be added are:

  • NOBUNAGA’S AMBITION
  • NOBUNAGA’S AMBITION: Lord of Darkness
  • Romance of the Three Kingdoms IV: Wall of Fire
  • Uncharted Water: New Horizons

All four of these games were developed by Koei Tecmo in the 90s. Both of the Nobunaga’s Ambition games and Romance of the Three Kingdoms IV: Wall of Fire are turn-based strategy games. Uncharted Water: New Horizons is a role-playing game set around the Age of Discovery.

These games will only be accessible through Nintendo Switch Online’s subscription. Once subscribed, players will be able to access the SNES catalog. There’s also an option of Nintendo Switch online + Expansion which unlocks the Nintendo 64, Game Boy Advance, and the SEGA Genesis catalogs. Nintendo periodically adds games to these catalogs.

Nintendo Switch Online is Nintendo’s subscription plan similar to Xbox Game Pass and PlayStation Plus. However, Nintendo is focusing more on retro games rather than triple-A and indies like the other two subscription plans.

Subscribing to Nintendo Switch Online allows players to play online, use Nintendo Music, and buy Nintendo Switch Game Vouchers.
