Key points
  1. A Flight Simulator 2025 knockoff listing appeared on the PlayStation Store.
  2. The fake game uses the name Grizzly Games Limited, which leads to a questionable website with mobile games and AI-generated artwork.
  3. The real Grizzly Games, developers of Thronefall, have denounced the use of their name and logo by this unauthorized game.

A game named Flight Simulator 2025 has appeared on the PlayStation Store. Besides being the Microsoft Flight Sim knockoff, this title, which has been listed for pre-order, uses the name and logo of Thronefall developer Grizzly Games without permission.

The first red flag came when players on Reddit spotted Flight Simulator 2025 on the PlayStation Store featuring a cover image that appears to be generated by AI and a developer’s name irrelevant to the Flight Simulator – Grizzy Games Limited.

It is worth noting that there is an existing Grizzly-Games.com website with a list of bogus mobile projects that also feature clearly AI-generated artwork for their title covers. Several links to download these titles on the Google Play store lead nowhere, and the only game shows gameplay footage via YouTube, Outlet City: Store Empire, which appears to be a simple mall tycoon game.

Meanwhile, Paul Schnepf, the co-founder of the real Grizzly Games, developer of Thronefall, issued a public statement to Eurogamer saying, “We’re not associated with Grizzly Games Ltd., and they’re using both our name and logo illegally.’’

“Furthermore, they seem to incorporate the absolute opposite of our values, of what we stand for and what we’re trying to give to the gaming community. Unfortunately, our legal resources are limited as a two-person indie team, but honestly, I’d love to see this kind of stuff being stopped, especially since it’s not only happening to us but lots of indie devs that just lack the legal power,” said Paul Schnepf.

The story is still in development…
