Japanese Team Anubyss Wins Mecha Break Pre-Launch Invitational

Japanese esports team Anubyss won over the Chinese squad Celestial Being at the Mecha Break Pre-Launch Invitational hosted by the game’s developer, Amazing Seasun Games.
The tournament, which took place in Zhuhai, China, from March 13 to March 16, 2025, saw 16 teams from the US, China, and Japan. Anubyss faced off against the Chinese squad Celestial Being in the grand finals, winning the best-of-five series with a 3:0 score.
Despite an intense lower-bracket run with three consecutive wins that earned Celestial Being their spot in the finals they didn’t manage to defeat Anubyss.
After the victory, the CEO and Executive Producer of Mecha Break, Kwis Kwok, presented the Finals MVP award to Anubyss member Kishinma, who had an exceptional performance in the grand finals.
The Mecha Break Pre-Launch Invitational served as a showcase of the potential of the upcoming mecha shooter. The event was a culmination of the Global Storm Beta.
It is worth noting that on Feb. 23, 2025, Mecha Break’s beta attracted 317,522 concurrent players. As Gaming.News reported on Feb. 24, 2025 game’s Steam page was named Mecha Break Demo and featured a Mostly Negative review rating, while at the time of writing, the game’s Steam page named Mecha Break doesn’t feature user reviews at all.
Besides that game’s official X (former Twitter) account states that the Mecha Break’s beta saw over 3 million participants. As of the time of writing, the game is available on Xbox Series X|S and PC via Steam.
