Eugene Evans, a senior vice president in Wizards of the Coast, is leaving the company after being with them for 6 years. Evans was in charge of Digital Strategy and Licensing before his departure.

Evans revealed this information via a LinkedIn post, according to PocketGamer.biz. He reminisced about his time with the company “It has been a true privilege to contribute to the legacy of such iconic brands,” the post read. He also mentioned that Hasbro’s portfolio was able to give him unique and an enriching experience.

“While I don’t have immediate plans to share, I remain optimistic about the future of the video game market. Despite current challenges, I firmly believe in its long-term growth and vitality. As always, I am committed to seeking opportunities where I can make a meaningful impact. I will be at GDC and look forward to many interesting conversations,” he added.

During his time in Wizards of the Coast and Hasbro, he was responsible for the licensing of the company’s many different games and brands. Evans handled Magic: The Gathering, Dungeons & Dragons, Duel Masters, and even Peppa Pig.

In February, Hasbro released its financial reports. In the reports, it was revealed that Monopoly GO earned them $112 million which was 23% of their total digital gaming revenue of 2024.
