In an earnings call, Asus co-CEO, S.Y. Hsu mentioned that they are considering a price increase of their products to offset the costs of Trump’s tariffs. The company is also currently moving their manufacturing lines to other countries to avoid the aforementioned tariffs.

S.Y. Hsu mentioned in an earnings call that moving their manufacturing lines to another country is going to cost them extra. As such, the company is considering a price increase of their products in an attempt to minimize losses.

“We will try to limit these costs to within a reasonable level,” S.Y. Hsu said. He continued by mentioning that the company is already seeing other brands starting to adjust their retail prices to cover the costs of the tariffs. “But for Asus, we will do our best to limit the impact of these changes for our customers,” he added.

Acer, another big name in the computer hardware industry, is increasing their prices by 10% according to their CEO. Same with Asus, Acer is also moving their manufacturing lines to other countries to avoid the Trump tariffs.

Asus increasing the prices will impact gamers a lot more than Acer. Acer’s products are usually laptops and monitors. Asus, on the other hand, also produces graphics cards. According to a report by PCMag, prices of RTX 5000 graphics cards that were manufactured by Asus have already gone up in recent weeks.

S.Y. Hsu has not mentioned when the price increase is expected to happen, nor has he specified how much the price bump will be.
