A Swedish retailer revealed that AMD’s board partners and retail stores will increase the prices of Radeon RX 9070 GPUs after the first batch sells out. Considering that one of the GPU’s main advantages over Nvidia’s offerings was its price, this puts the card in an awkward position.
The information comes from Wccftech, which cited Swedish retailer INET as a source. According to the report, board partners and retailers intend to raise prices for both the RX 9070 and RX 9070 XT once initial stock is depleted.
Overclockers UK, a PC hardware retailer, has also backed these claims. A staff member on their forum stated that the store has around 4,000 units in stock, which should last for a few days. They acknowledged that a price increase is expected but did not specify how much it would be.
The Radeon RX 9070 GPUs have garnered praise from different reviewers calling it one of the best GPUs in its price point. Reviewers have recommended AMD’s GPUs over Nvidia’s due to the performance it delivers at a much cheaper price than their competitors.
