Honor of Kings Launches Season 9 Featuring New Hero Feyd

New game modes, events, quality-of-life improvements and a new hero, Feyd, are coming in the just-launched Honor of Kings Season 9.

New human hero Feyd, who can be unlocked for free by completing special missions until March 30, 2025, joins the roster of assassins, bringing a skillset of martial arts and sorcery, including such abilities as:

• Passive, Jade Perch allows Feyd to jump onto and walk on natural walls, gaining movement speed while on them. While on a wall, his basic attacks become ranged,
• Jade Chase: Whirling Strike makes the hero dash forward while dealing damage to enemies in his path and launching them. After using this skill, his next two basic attacks deal extra damage and restore his health,
• Stepping on Jade allows Feyd to jump onto a targeted wall, positioning himself for strategic movement and attacks,
• Ultimate ability, Hardened Jade Mark, deals damage and marks nearby enemies. Using the skill a second time unleashes four strikes, dealing additional damage and restoring Feyd’s health. If a marked enemy’s health is below a certain threshold, the last strike inflicts grievous damage. When on a wall, Feyd can use this skill to jump down.

On top of that a selection of new skins is hitting the game throughout the season. Players can collect Astral Magic Skins during limited-time events, while Han Xin’s Flawless Skin will be up for grabs through a lucky draw from March 7 to April 6, 2025. Meanwhile, Cirrus’ Legend Skin and Shangguan’s Epic Skin will be available in the shop starting March 14th and 15th, respectively.

Honor of Kings also gets new game modes, events and battlefield mechanics in season 9:

• Happy Gathering (March 5th – 19th) grants the temporary Shared Placemat skill, which generates Ketupat healing items for defeating bosses like Tyrant or Tempest Dragon,
• Celestial Light (March 20th – April 30th) introduces a day-night cycle where skills change based on the time of day. In daylight, players deal damage and gain vision, while at night, they can stun enemies,
• Friday Frenzy (March 7th, 14th, 21st, and 28th) is a returning weekly event where players can win up to four skins by teaming up for ranked matches,
• Infinite Brawl is a new game mode featuring upgraded Blessings, permanently available starting March 7th.

This season also brings balance updates and quality-of-life improvements:

• Within Hero & Equipment Adjustments, the game brings various buffs and nerfs for heroes like Ziya, Mayene, and Sima Yi, along with tweaks to mage basic attack mechanics,
• The New Close Friends Group feature presents a revamped social experience, allowing skin sharing among close friends during special events,
• Matchmaking and UI fixes promise an optimized ban/pick interface, improved red-dot notifications, and fixes for occasional minimap overlap issues.

In 2024, Honor of Kings, developed by Tencent’s TiMi Studio Group, became the highest-grossing mobile game in the world with $2.6 billion gross. Also, in August 2024, the game got an episode named Honor of Kings: The Way of All Things on the Secret Level anthology series.
