EA reportedly cancelled the development of one of their planned multiplayer FPS titles. Though the game’s exact name was not revealed, a LinkedIn post confirmed the shutdown of the project that was being developed by Respawn Entertainment.

“The unannounced incubation project I was a part of for the past year was canceled this week,” Production Coordinator Emilee Evans at Respawn Entertainment shared in the now deleted LinkedIn post. The worker is now reportedly searching for a new role following the shutdown of the project.

According to Dexerto, EA had started hiring for the project in 2023. Following standard industry trends, the exact title’s name was not revealed in the job postings, creating early anticipation for the game’s future release.

GameRant believed the cancelled title could have been tied to the Titanfall Universe, as Titanfall is one of Respawn Entertainment’s biggest productions. But because of the ambiguity surrounding the shutdown, much of the information circulating the internet is based on speculation.

EA has not officially acknowledged or confirmed reports regarding the cancellation of Respawn Entertainment’s project.

Respawn Entertainment is the development studio responsible for Apex Legends, Titanfall, and Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and Survivor. Its biggest title is the live-service game, Apex Legends – which has a robust esports scene and content cycle.
