Counter-Strike map Cache is ready to make its way into CS2, but Valve’s development process keeps the official date unknown.
Cache, originally set in a post-soviet industrial complex, has been a part of Counter-Strike for years and has seen a lot of iterations and updates. The new map’s version for CS2 was announced by its developer, FMPONE, via post on social media. According to the community creator, the new asset will officially join the map pool as soon as Valve HQ approves it.
In its new iteration, Cache brings updated visuals and optimizations. The map’s setting, around the nuclear disaster site of Chernobyl, remains untouched. For now, players can get their hands on the community version through the Steam Workshop.
Released in September 2023, Counter-Strike 2 has generated an estimated $1 billion in revenue through the sale of loot boxes by the end of the year, with a total of over 400 million loot boxes being opened.
