This move comes after Capcom announced the resignation of Executive Corporate Officer Yoichi Egawa, who has been overseeing the company’s development divisions and pachinko business. Ryozo, currently serving as deputy in charge of these divisions, will step into the role of Chief Product Officer (CPO).

According to the company’s statement, as CPO, Ryozo will now oversee Capcom’s development strategy, guiding the company’s future projects. It is worth mentioning that he will not oversee Capcom’s pachinko business as previous CPOs used to, as it will now fall under the leadership of his elder brother, Haruhiro Tsujimoto, Capcom’s Chief Operating Officer.

Ryozo Tsujimoto joined the company in 1996, right after university, and began his career working on arcade games like Battle Circuit and Tech Romancer. Starting as a planner for the first Monster Hunter on PS2, Tsujimoto’s role in Capcom grew as he produced titles like Monster Hunter Tri, Monster Hunter Freedom 2, and Monster Hunter Portable 3rd. He later became the senior producer of major titles such as Monster Hunter World, Monster Hunter Rise, and the recently released Monster Hunter Wilds.

It is worth noting that  Monster Hunter World remains Capcom’s best-selling game of all time, having sold over 25 million units worldwide, while Monster Hunter Rise has surpassed 15 million copies sold and recently released Monster Hunter Wilds saw over a million concurrent players on Steam on its launch weekend.
