Key points
  1. Kids are appearing pregnant after the Sims 4 Update.
  2. The issue is supposedly caused by a bug mixing up children and adult presets.
  3. No hotfix has been implemented as of February 26.

Sims 4’s recent update accidentally made kids appear pregnant. The bug is supposedly caused by a mix-up in children and adult presets – so the kids will not actually give birth after nine months. The birthing feature is still locked for adults and young adults only, as it should be.

Various accounts of this bug were shared on Reddit – indicating a relatively common in-game bug.

“WHY WHAT PLEASE,” one redditor implored, seeking answers among the community.

“One of my kids has a huge butt now and I can’t even change it back,” another gamer replied.

The game locks appearance modifications for children. This means that the children that appear pregnant in the game will simply have to wait until they reach an appropriate age to get rid of their disproportionate appearance.

The patch that broke the game added the iconic burglar: Robin Banks, a mischievous criminal who robs unsuspecting sims at night – which now includes pregnant looking children.

Sims 4 released in 2014, and has achieved 85 million players worldwide. Despite being 11 years old, EA is still updating the game, implementing new events and game functions catered towards keeping the experience fresh and rewarding.
