Team Fortress 2 Classic is a mod that aims to re-imagine the early post-launch time of Team Fortress 2. The mod has been around since 2014 and is finally coming to Steam in 2025.
The mod includes a lot of balance changes as well as other features that are not in the official game. For example, Domination and VIP Race are all included in Team Fortress 2 Classic. The Civilian also makes his appearance in Classic as part of the VIP Race.
Aside from these, certain prerelease-inspired weapons are also available in the mod. The developers also promised that the modding support will be intensive, allowing players to customize their game to their heart’s content. Visual enhancements will also be included.

While there’s no current release date, the mod is already available to be wishlisted on Steam. The release window set by the developers is 2025, interested players will just have to wait for new release information as the developers prepare for its launch.
Team Fortress 2 was released back in 2007. The game was very well received and even achieved a Metacritic score of 92. While originally released for the PC, Team Fortress 2 actually had a PlayStation 3 version which ran until 2023. In 2011, Team Fortress 2 went free-to-play and is now primarily distributed through Steam.
