Dark Souls 3 Finally Has A Seamless Co-op Mod

Yui, the creator of the Elden Ring Seamless Co-op Mod, has finally released an alpha version of a previously teased mod that allows players to play Dark Souls 3 with their friends. The mod is available to download for players wanting to experience it for themselves.

The mod was first teased on Yui’s YouTube Channel where they played with Oroboro, a Souls YouTuber, where they used a very early version of the co-op mod. But on February 24, Yui launched the alpha version of the mod. The mod being in Alpha version means that while this is still an early version and might have quite a few bugs, it’s stable enough for players to use.

According to Yui, this mod allows players to play the game together from start to finish. It also allows them to play with five more players for a total of six people in a single session. Players using the mod will also find that fog walls and barriers usually restricting multiplayer have been removed, among other things.

There are also special interactions added by them in order to balance the game. For example, players who die while fighting a boss battle or an invasion won’t respawn immediately but instead become an observer first. They will only respawn after the boss is defeated, the whole party is defeated, or when a player rests at a bonfire.

These interactions have been added by Yui as they admit that the mod will make the game a lot easier by itself. As such, different balancing options have been put in place including allowing players to customize the game’s scaling by themselves.

While Dark Souls 3 has its own co-op capabilities, it can feel a bit limited. For example, the host of the co-op session will be the only one progressing their story if Dark Souls 3’s co-op mode was used. With Yui’s Seamless Co-op Mod, everyone playing with the host will advance their story.
