Key points
  1. 2XKO is backing off from a large-scale global playtest and is going for a much smaller one.
  2. The director also addressed concerns regarding Pulse Fuse and a new Fuse they’re developing.
  3. 2XKO is set to release in 2025.

2XKO Game Director, Shaun Rivera, has released a statement talking about the cancellation of the game’s large-scale global playtest. According to him, they’re moving away from that plan in favor of a much smaller scale playtest.

Rivera also mentioned that they’re going to do the small-scale test while they’re building the infrastructure needed to house the high amount of players who want to get their hands on the game. Along with this, he also discussed different community concerns.

One of these is Pulse Fuse. Pulse Fuse allows players to do an autocombo, however it occupies the fuse slot. This means that players won’t be able to use other fuses like Fury, Freestyle, or 2x Assist. One of the biggest player concerns was their desire to have the autocombo functionality of the Pulse Fuse while also being able to use other fuses. As such, Rivera announced that they’re removing Pulse Fuse and adding a toggle available in champion select that enables or disables autocombos for the player’s champion.

In place of this, they’ve developed a new fuse called Sidekick. Sidekick is more of a supportive role and never switches in with the character that’s currently fighting, also called a point. According to Rivera, they’re introducing this fuse for people who want to learn the game at their own pace.

2XKO is a fighting game developed by Riot Games that uses characters from the League of Legends universe. The game features a unique tagging system that allows two players to team up against another set of players and fight them. The game is going to have its next playtest in Spring and its release date is slated for 2025.
