Professional skateboarder Tyshawn Jones has inadvertently revealed the existence of an unannounced remastered Tony Hawk video game. During an interview on The Breakfast Club podcast (spotted by Eurogamer), Jones casually mentioned his involvement in an upcoming title.
“I’m in a Tony Hawk coming out, that’s cool… They got a new one they’re remastering, so that’s about to come out. I was in the last one,” Jones said, referring to Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2, which launched in 2020.
Activision Blizzard has not officially announced any new remasters for the franchise. However, speculation surrounding a potential Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4 remake has been ongoing for years. In 2022, reports surfaced that plans for the project were scrapped following the merger of developer Vicarious Visions into Blizzard.
Despite that, Tony Hawk himself hinted last September that he had resumed talks with Activision about the series’ future. “I’m working on something with them,” he stated at the time, calling the discussions “insanely exciting.” Later that month, he marked the 25th anniversary of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater with an Instagram post cryptically stating, “I’m not supposed to tease anything else about the future of the series, but there will be a future.”
The Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater series is one of the most influential skateboarding franchises, widely credited with popularizing skateboarding games and influencing extreme sports culture in gaming. Following the release of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2 Remastered in 2020, many speculated that remasters of Pro Skater 3 and 4 could be in the works, though no official announcements were made.
