Honkai: Star Rail 3.1 Drops New Location, Characters, and More

A massive regular update in Honkai: Star Rail – Version 3.1, titled “Light Slips the Gate, Shadow Greets the Throne,” is launching on Feb. 26, 2025, across all platforms, including PC, PlayStation 5, and mobile devices. The upcoming chapter brings additional playable characters, as well as a new location and game mechanics.
The main highlight of this update is the introduction of the Grove of Epiphany, a city-state embroiled in conflict. A shadowy foe threatens the city’s Titan’s Coreflame, and it’s up to the protagonist, the Trailblazer, to step in and restore balance. The mission will have players exploring this new map while uncovering the truth behind the mysterious attacks.
As expected, Version 3.1 will bring two new 5-star characters. The first one is Tribbie, a transformed demigod who split herself into “thousands of Messengers” using the powerful Century Gate. As a Harmony character, Tribbie is designed to buff allies and debuff enemies.
The second new character is Mydei, a fierce warrior who consumes HP to dish out additional damage. With her Destruction and Imaginary abilities, Mydei can become a great choice for maximizing offensive potential.
Version 3.1 will also introduce several character banners featuring both new and rerun 5-star characters. The first phase of the banners will run from Feb. 25 to March 19, while the second phase will take place from March 19 to April 8, 2025.
The first half will feature Tribbie and Yunli, while the second half will bring Mydei and Huohuo back into the spotlight. Along with these, several 4-star characters like Lynx, Hook, and Guinaifen will be available in the first half, while Arlan, Xueyi, and Natasha will make their appearance in the second half.
Players can also look forward to two new Light Cone banners, including signature Light Cones for the featured 5-star characters.
The new season of Divergent Universe also introduces new battle mechanics based on the time of day. Combat will shift between day and night, providing different effects during each time period.
